Mobil Bund Upgrade

After a successful 1st stage of Mobil’s Black Oil bund secondary containment. Bishops were again commissioned to continue with Stage 2.

Strong planning was required to operate within a live plant environment and to work alongside various contractors to ensure a successful project.

This work involved construction of

- New ring foundations to 3 Tanks

- Asphalt skirts to tanks

- A full shotcrete bund wall reinstatement

- Crane access ways and pads

- Pipe support foundations for all Mechanical plant and access ways

- Installation of a full HDPE liner system.

- Upgrades to bund drainage system including new sumps and piping

- Grouting of all Mechanical plant

Prior to handover to the Client, Bishops were responsible to carry out a full hydrotest to ensure the bund was watertight and compliant to the latest standards and regulations. The test was carried out passed accordingly and all Quality Assurance and deliverables were met in line with the Client requirements and expectations.
