Quantum Bund Upgrade

Bishops were commissioned by the lead Mechanical contractor Page Macrae Engineering to undertake a time pressured construction of  a fully lined bund extension in both the Caustic and Nitric secondary containment areas in Quantem (formerly known as Bulk Storage Terminals).

This required a fully committed team of experts in their respective field in order to achieved the necessary outcome within the allocated time frames.

With careful planning and execution the project was a success and the plant was able to commission the plant in line with the schedule to meet all external obligations.

Construction consisted of:

- New foundations for 2 x Caustic Tanks

- New foundation for a Nitric Tank

- New bund walls systems and alteration to existing bund wall systems

- Asphalt and concrete skirts to tanks

- Pipe support foundations for all Mechanical plant and access ways

- Installation of a full HDPE liner system.

- Upgrades to bund drainage system including new sumps and piping

- New roading and surfacing

- Grouting of all Mechanical plant
