Te Munga WWTP Clarifier

With the growth being experienced in Tauranga additional capacity for waste water treatment also needs to keep pace. HEB construction were awarded the main contract for the expansion of the Te Munga plant by the council which included construction of an additional clarifier. Another two clarifiers are also in the pipeline that will replace the existing aging plant. In total the plant will be able to handle up to 50% more waste after the upgrade.  HEB approached Bishops to carry out the reinforcing installation for the base of the clarifier which required 500 tons of reinforcing steel. The work was executed under tight timeframes so that scheduled concrete pours could be maintained. The project spanned over three months and came in on schedule. Bishops are proud to have been part of this project and enjoyed working alongside HEB.
